Common Questions Regarding Process Serving?
What is Process Serving?
Process Serving is the legal term for delivery of court-ordered papers to the individuals which the documents concern. In some states, such as Arizona, a licensed individual known as a Process Server must perform this. At ASAP Serve, LLC, our process servers are experienced, licensed professionals in serving legal documents, some of which include: complaints, subpoenas, and summonses. Please see our blog article on who can be a process server in Arizona for more information.
What does a Process Server actually do?
Process Servers do many things. Namely, they deliver legal documents (called “serving” the documents) to individuals involved in court cases. For example, a process server may deal with serving legal papers for divorce cases involving custody, restraining orders for harassment, or civil documents revolving around summons or complaints. This may be done by delivering the papers in person, or to the business or residence of the individual in question, depending on the specific nature of the documents and case. Process Servers understand the laws and legal systems in their area (E.G. Gilbert Process Servers & Chandler Process Servers will understand laws that apply in those cities, as well as knowledge in Process Serving Maricopa County) and will be able to help you get your documents served quickly and painlessly. For more information please check out or blog post about what process servers do.
Why do I need a Process Server?
Arizona (AZ) is one of the few states that require a licensed process server (find out what it takes to be a licensed Arizona process server) to deliver your documents. In many Arizona court cases, a process server is mandatory to the finalization of court proceedings. Professional and experienced process servers can drastically reduce the time, stress, and money involved in completing your court case and serving your documents, and choosing the wrong process server could even result in having a case dismissed altogether.
ASAP Serve, LLC works with you to ensure that your case is handled quickly and correctly the first time through. ASAP Serve, LLC’s process servers understand the legalities, along with the necessary steps used, to complete your case properly & efficiently.

What is Skip Tracing (skiptracing)?
Skiptracing is the process of determining an individual’s location so that papers may be served. The term comes from the idea of “tracing” the whereabouts of someone who has “skipped town,” or is otherwise difficult to locate. Skiptracing may be necessary to serve papers to a person who’s contact information is not immediately known, or in cases where the individual to be served is intentionally avoiding service of process. For more information please read our article on skip tracing.
